A rough cut is the first stage in which the film begins to resemble its final product. Rough cuts do not flow well and still undergo many changes before the release of the film. It is just a "rough" cut that allows the producers and editors to observe at what stage they are at, this allows them to analyse if changes need to be made or if it is going well they just need to carry on with the production already as they are doing it well. Also, it is important to consider audience feedback as it allows the production team to analyse if they are targeting their audience efficiently or not. With the audience's feedback it will allow the production team to make changes and even alter the narrative or filming if it does fit the purpose for the audiences view.
Furthermore, through the use of my rough cut I have received feedback by the use interview as I had
asked questions from my questionnaire asking at least 20 people. Also, I had received feedback from my class once they had watched our rough cut, as they are in the age group of our target audience. Through the use of them watching our rough cut they evaluated my opening sceneration, by including that I need to edit more of my thriller to make it short and quicker to help it appeal to the audience better. Also, there was no sound used as it was only a rough cut, they all believed that by importing sound it would of made a huge difference to create suspense and build a relationship between the audience and the character within the frame. The feedback was also positive as they said they understood the narrative and it was also a good sense of enigma used, they believed that through the use of sound it would be made more effective.
Finally, I believe that the feedback will help assist me with finalising my thriller opening sequence, as it is from the target audience from my thriller. Also, by me taking the feedback and making it better, it will target the audience effectively - keeping them engaged and wanting to watch further. As they understood what was happening it was still mysterious.
